Happy New Year, Franklin families! Here is what has been going on in the library and a glimpse at a few things that will be going on in the library soon.
I am very proud of the many students participating in the Reading Challenge. It is never too late to start for those who haven't started yet. I have extra forms outside the library. If you have questions, go ahead and message me here or send me an email at email@example.com.
This year with the help of our Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF), Krystal Griffith, we have been able to host an hour of creation for grades 4 and 5 and Ms. Vestal's 3rd graders. Hour of creation is when students get to try out different apps/programs with the help of our ITF such as creating stop motion videos, using green screen to create videos, and using "Makey Makey" which allows students to program a motherboard and create controllers for programs (like Tetris, PacMan, play drums). The other 3rd grade classes will be experiencing an hour of creation this winter sometime.
Additionally, I have had the pleasure of team teaching novels with the 3rd and 4th graders before Winter Break and working with 2nd grade on group animal research projects. Currently, I am working with the 4th graders on a poetry unit and will be working with 5th grade on the novel Wonder in a few weeks.
Looking forward to a great 2018! Thanks for all of your support and involvement with your student(s). ... See MoreSee Less
